FAQs
What does BOPA provide for farms?
BOPA provides fleets of Autonomous Nano-Tractors (ANTs) that target and eliminate resistant weeds for small and midsize farms. Every lease includes farm assessment, delivery, setup, training, and full field support throughout your season. The ANT is leased as an operating expense: no capital purchase, no maintenance burden, no outdated technology to carry forward.
What kinds of crops and farmland do BOPA and the ANT work well with?
The ANT works across a wide range of row crop and specialty crops, including corn, soybeans, beans, beets, potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, chilies, and organic feed crops. The ANT is crop-agnostic by design, with the ability to onboard new crop models quickly. Contact us if you have a specific crop or environment in mind. Contact us if you have questions on how BOPA can help your farm!
How many ANTs do I need?
View our pricing model to get a sense of how leasing is structured, then contact BOPA directly for a customized estimate based on your acreage, season length, and crop type. The right number of ANTs depends on your specific operation, and our team can get you a number quickly. Worth knowing: cost per acre decreases as the size of the operation increases.
How much land can the ANT manage in a day?
One ANT can handle weeding responsibilities for approximately 500 acres per year, depending on field conditions and crop type. Combined with BOPA’s labor reduction data (70-90% less manual labor on weeding tasks), the productivity shift for most operations is significant.
How do you handle maintenance and support needs for the ANT?
Working with BOPA, you’re not purchasing equipment and managing maintenance on your own. Every lease includes training, field support, and equipment repair as needed. No interest. No maintenance burden. No outdated tech. When the season ends, you return the ANT and BOPA handles the rest.
Can I just buy the ANTS without a BOPA membership?
BOPA operates exclusively on a lease model, and that’s by design. The lease is what makes the ANT an operating expense rather than a capital purchase, keeps your technology current every season, and ensures you always have BOPA’s field support behind you.
